Full time fashion designer 2 year program

Pre-requisite: High School diploma or equivalent.
Basic knowledge of Sewing: Introduction to Sewing (offered at the school).

Learning plan

Year 1

  1. Fashion Sketching 6hrs/week
  2. Pattern Making 6hrs/week
  3. Professional Sewing 6hrs/week
  4. Textiles (Sept-Dec) 3hrs/week
  5. History of Costume (Jan-April) 3hrs/week

Projects: dress design, bustier, historic costume.

Year 2

  1. Fashion Sketching 6hrs/week
  2. Pattern Making 6hrs/week
  3. Professional Sewing 6hrs/week
  4. Marketing (Sept-Dec) 3hrs/week
  5. Marketing and Merchandising (Jan-April) 3hrs/week
  6. Final Project (Feb)

Projects: Collection design, winter coat, tailored jacket design, pant design.

Fashion students attend 21 hours of class per week and will have approximately 30 hours of homework.

While at our Fashion School, the students will develop their creativity to the fullest, learning and creating fashion trends, creative presentations, mastering high standards in all techniques, time management and respecting deadlines are developed and stressed throughout the program.

Fashion Designer Diploma requirements: 70% average in all subjects and a minimum attendance of 80% in all courses.

First and second year students present their own creations at Grande Premiere, the school’s end of the year Fashion Show. This creates a window of opportunity for exposure of our graduates and their designs.

Approved as a vocational program under the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005.
